Have fun cooking outdoors

Living here in the UK, the weather often means that we have limited opportunities to enjoy summer sunshine. When the sun does appear from behind the clouds, it's always nice to try and make the most of the occasion.
Hosting a barbeque day is a great way to do exactly that. It gives us
the chance to spend the entire day outdoors, enjoying being able to
make the most of the garden.
It also means that we can gather together friends and family. This creates a wonderful social atmosphere, perfect for those of all ages. There's something about feeling the sun's rays beating down that inspires happiness.
The actual act of cooking and eating outdoors is a great way to share the day with others. Though some find cooking to be stressful, using a barbeque is an excellent, sociable way of cooking food.
You don't need to be a professional chef to create a nice meal in this way. If you don't feel confident that you'll be able to produce complex dishes, then stick to simple options and aim to cook them well. |

To make the day easier, you can consider preparing some dishes way before guests arrive. Side dishes, such as coleslaw or potato salad, are easy to make and can help to transform the overall meal.
They also have the added advantage of being perfect candidates for preparing early, since they can easily be stored in the fridge until they are ready to be eaten.
What about the barbeque itself? I tend to use a Weber barbeque, but the actual piece of kit that you use is less important than what you do with it..
Make sure that you know exactly how it works, particularly if you've purchased a model with a higher specification.
Most importantly of all - have great fun cooking!
